Day 1

Cape Town → Route 62 → Oudtshoorn → Knysna

We depart Cape Town early, watching the landscape transform into the dramatic sandstone formations of the interior. Tracing historic Route 62, we stop for breakfast in Barrydale before crossing the plains of the Klein Karoo. After a traditional Karoo lunch we dive deep into the ancient limestone chambers of the Cango Caves. Settle for the evening at the edge of the tranquil Knysna lagoon.

  • Midday:
    Traditional Karoo specialty lunch & guided exploration of the Cango Caves.

Day 2 · Marine Marvels, Adrenaline & Ancient Forests

Knysna → Tsitsikamma National Park → Bloukrans → The Knysna Heads

An action-packed exploration of the Tsitsikamma wilderness. We trace deep coastal gorges, encounter colossal indigenous trees, and marvel at the raw power of the Indian Ocean meeting rock cliffs. Before heading back to our lagoon base, we stand directly atop the massive sandstone headlands that frame the ocean entry point.

    Immersive breakfast trek through the award-winning Wild Oats Community Farmers Market in Sedgefield (weekday artisanal alternatives provided).
  • Midday:
    Dramatic gorge views at Bloukrans Bridge (home to the world's highest commercial bridge bungee jump) & scenic valley lunch.
  • Afternoon:
    Coastal boardwalk trekking to the Storms River Mouth Suspension Bridge, or optional eco-guided ocean kayaking into the river gorge.
  • Late Afternoon:
    Panoramic viewpoints atop the majestic eastern Knysna Heads.
Day 3 · Big Five game drive & Scenic Coastal Return

Knysna → Mossel Bay → Botlierskop → Overberg & Whales Region → Cape Town

Bid farewell to the lagoon as we chart a course west along the scenic coastal highway. We pivot into the Outeniqua foothills for an elite wildlife tracking experience before tracing the sweeping, golden canola fields and mountain ranges of the Overberg back towards the Mother City.

  • Morning:
    Three-hour 4x4 game drive at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve tracking lions, elephants, rhinos, giraffes and more, with an expert ranger.
  • Midday:
    Lodge-side lunch overlooking the reserve.
  • Afternoon:
    Scenic drive through the agricultural farmlands and historic towns of the Overberg.
  • Evening:
    Return to your Cape Town accommodation around 18:30.
